The Las Vegas Chapter held their first fund raising event Sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover of Las Vegas, a sporting clays tournament in early September at the Las Vegas Gun Club. There was a great turn out, sixteen teams for a total of 80 participants competed for some great prizes. The event was based on the best of 75 clay birds per shooter at sixteen different stations with the highest total team score winning. When the lead stopped flying a great barbecue was provided by John Mull’s Famous Road Kill Grill, this was barbecue at its best.
This year’s top three teams were; in first place Guy Martin and Team Martin & Harris Construction, second place team; Jaguar Land Rover of Las Vegas captained by Pete Carollo, and finishing in third place, Courtney Whipple and Team SWF. The top three teams drew for CZ Arms over under shot guns for each member and Team Jaguar Land Rover of Las Vegas taking home the guns.
A lot of great raffle prizes were donated and many lucky shooters went home with some great prizes. The money raised will go to funding the annual banquet the Chapters’ largest fund raising event for the year. In addition a two day camp will be held in late spring early summer for children between the ages of 12 and 16, introducing them to hunting and shooting sports.
This event was extremely successful thanks to all of the teams that participated and special thanks to all of the companies that helped sponsor the event without their help it wouldn’t have been possible. We look forward to next year’s event and hope it will be just as successful or even better.
