Julius,
I just wanted to sincerely thank you again for such a great event this weekend. Honestly, it was hands down the best SCI function I’ve attended outside of National Convention, and I’ve been an SCI Life Member since 2008 and have served on the Utah Chapter board several times over the last 8 years.
My dad absolutely loved it too, and honestly that says a lot because it’s tough for him to enjoy events that much. The setup was excellent — the shooting in the morning, followed by lunch, then the talks from Mark and Dave afterward was incredibly well done.
What really stood out to me was how engaged everyone stayed during the seminars. Mark and Dave know how to speak to a room and keep people interested without losing them. A lot of events struggle because speakers either bore attendees or make conversations feel too “inside baseball,” where half the room can’t follow along. Once that happens, people mentally check out and things like paddle raises or fundraising fall flat.
Your event felt completely different. The atmosphere was fun, engaging, and people genuinely wanted to be there and participate. Honestly, I think an environment like that would even be perfect for a successful paddle raise, especially tied to something meaningful like partnering with Hunters Frontline Foundation, since that topic clearly resonated with people.
I’m telling you — that was one of the best functions I’ve ever attended, and I’m 100% coming back next year. I already have four friends who said they want to attend too if dates are announced far enough in advance so they can plan travel and time off work.
Thanks again, Julius. You guys really did an outstanding job.

Julius,
It was my great pleasure to attend and sponsor the recent “African Dangerous Game Symposium” hosted by the SCI Las Vegas Chapter. Even though this was not an incredibly large event compared to the massive national conventions, the attendees were exactly the right “type” of potential customers. For instance, I had the opportunity to connect with several hunters who booked safaris in Africa with me at the event. Many of the attendees were also members of my podcast audience and/or hunters who use North Fork bullets. It was also massively valuable to have exposure to potential customers and listeners who did not already know about my safaris, my podcast, and/or North Fork bullets.
Finally, I also appreciated the fact that the other sponsors of the event were not competitors in the spaces I operate in. On the contrary, the other sponsors and I actually provided goods and services that complemented each other’s offerings (e.g. Superior Ammunition and Jordan Switzer build custom ammunition and rifles that can utilize North Fork bullets and be used on my hunts by those who listen to my podcast).
On a personal level, I tremendously enjoyed the opportunity to meet Mark Sullivan and Dave Fulson in person and hear them speak. Likewise, it was both fun and extremely useful to have the opportunity to handle, shoot, and compare such a wide variety of dangerous game rifles in different cartridges (9.3x62mm through 500 Nitro Express) and varieties (multiple bolt-actions and doubles from various manufacturers).
This was a very unique event that was well planned, well resourced, and well executed, one of the best I’ve ever attended. I greatly appreciate all the hard work that went into making it happen and I look forward to attending and sponsoring future events along these lines in the future.

Dear Julius:
The African Dangerous Game Symposium held May 16th, 2026, was an invaluable experience! There is truly nothing else like it!
Whether one is experienced or new to hunting African dangerous game, there is a tremendous amount to be gained. You get to meet people with vast amounts of experience. That knowledge alone quite literally pays for itself ten fold in the inevitable learning curve that occurs when embarking on any new adventure, especially hunting in Africa.
In this way, just the side conversations are well worth the cost of entry! Not to mention, you are surrounded by great people who just want to help you succeed in your dream hunt. It is refreshing for the soul to be amongst kind, like-minded individuals with the same passion and dreams of hunting African dangerous game.
I learned more about double rifles, hunting cartridges, and African dangerous game in one afternoon than in the previous decade combined. There is certain knowledge that just does not translate from books in the same way that it does when hanging around folks who have done this longer than I have been alive.
I hope this event occurs every year and continues to gain traction so we can help support and protect what many of us seem to live for- hunting African dangerous game.

Hey Julius,
Thanks again for an awesome weekend and hosting such a great event and allowing me to share your home for a few days. Your generous hospitality is greatly appreciated. Here's a quick comment on the event:
I'd like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the Double Rifle Society and SCI - Las Vegas Chapter Dangerous Game and Double Rifle/Big Bore Rifle Shoot. The level of knowledge and dedication of the team was second to none. I've attended a lot of major shows and conventions, but this was beyond a shadow of a doubt the most informative and hands on event I've ever experienced. I absolutely cannot wait for this event next year and know Julius and Ryan will ensure it is even better.

Julius,
I’d like to take a quick moment and thank both yourself as well as all the other Members of the SCI Las Vegas Chapter for doing such an AWESOME job hosting the African Dangerous Game Symposium Sat. May 16th, 2026.
At 55 years old I decided I’ve waited long enough to make my African Hunting Safari dream into reality. John McAdams “Big Game Hunting” Podcast/YouTube video Ep. 378 with you Julius on your Cape Buffalo charge and the safety factors of a Double Barrel Rifle vs. a Bolt Action are what finally compelled me to order my Heym Model 89B Double Rifle in .470 NE in preparation for our upcoming 2029 Safari. Not to mention the Heym Express Martini Bolt Action Rifle in .375 HH Mag. (In for a Penney, in for a pound as they say! My wife, LaShunda was sitting next to me in Chris Sells Dallas, TX. office when I did it btw. AFTER she gave me the green light of course. #BestWifeEver!).
When we learned that SCI Las Vegas was hosting the African Dangerous Game Symposium we couldn’t sign up fast enough. It was worth every cent! And next to nothing compared with what we learned and in comparison what an actual Safari costs in the long run. Even with airfare from Chicago and the hotel in Las Vegas. We both learned a tremendous amount of knowledge from some of the best people in the Safari business. Namely Mark Sullivan, Dave Fulson, John McAdams, Lonnie Cribb, Shawn Joyce and You among others that were in attendance. Literally an “A List” of who’s who in the zoo. LaShunda decided that Mark Sullivan is the “Chuck Norris” of Safari and told him as much. Judging by his smile I’m guessing she hit the nail on the head.
The added bonus of actual range time with bolt action as well as double barrel rifles in your typical Safari Dangerous Game calibers:
9.3mm, 375 HH Mag., 450 NE, 470 NE and I think I heard there was a 577 NE as well sealed the deal. Like a lot of first time Safari hunters I’ve had no experience shooting these type of firearms in these calibers. The fact that so many veteran Safari hunters volunteered their personal firearms for us to shoot and experience says volumes about what a great SCI chapter you folks have in Las Vegas! It made it one of the greatest hunting seminars I’ve ever attended, which is not an inconsequential amount!
We can’t wait for next year’s African Dangerous Game Symposium. We plan on keeping/renewing our SCI Las Vegas Chapter membership and will attend your big banquets in Feb 27. I will be bringing my Heym Express Bolt Action in 375 HH Mag. for other shooters to use. (Sadly, the 89B Double Rifle won’t be done until appx. 2028).
Great job to all of you out there in Las Vegas as well as everyone involved in promoting the last great adventure as Dave Fulson says! Well done!

I learned a lot going to the event that Double Rifle Society and SCI Las Vegas Chapter put on. A woman being in a man’s field isn’t easy, but everyone welcomed me with both arms. We were able to meet up with old acquaintances and make new friendships. Even though it was a busy event, we were able to have one on one time with people like Dave Fulson and Mark Sullivan. We were able to hear stories about guns and hunting, and able to ask questions. They both put on great presentations full of information regarding hunting in Africa.

What I enjoyed the most about the Double Rifle shoot was getting to meet some of the greats in the hunting world. It’s not every day you see Dave Fulson and Mark Sullivan on the same practice field as you. Also, how inviting Julius, his family, and other members of the SCI Las Vegas Chapter was. Lots of great information to be learned there. Meeting other like-minded and passionate people shooting big boar Double Rifles. We drove from Oklahoma, a 15-hour drive, and we talked and reminisced about the weekend the whole way home.
